Collecting Reviews
Moderation & approval
You decide what goes public. Every review lands in your dashboard as Pending first. Nothing shows on your widget, your public profile, or your team hub until you approve it.
Open Reviews in the dashboard. New reviews arrive with a status of Pending and wait for you. As each one comes in, SyncReviews reads its sentiment (positive, neutral, or negative) so you have extra context when you open it, but nothing is approved automatically. You are always the one who publishes a review.
The Reviews dashboard
Reviews are split into two tabs, each with a live count in the tab label:
- Team Reviews, reviews left for a specific employee (collected through that person's QR code or link).
- Company Reviews, reviews left for the business as a whole.
At the top you get four quick stats for whatever you are viewing: Total Reviews (with a video and text breakdown), Avg Rating, Approved (with your approval rate), and Pending. Below that, a toolbar lets you narrow the list:
- Search by customer name or by words in the review text.
- Status filter: All, Pending, or Approved.
- Team member filter (on the Team Reviews tab) to see one person's reviews.
- Type filter: all reviews, video only, or text only.
Long lists are paged, 15 reviews per page.
How a review goes from Pending to public
- A customer leaves a review through a QR code, a direct link, or a review request. It lands in your Reviews dashboard as Pending.
- Find it under the Team or Company tab. Read the comment, play the video, and check the star rating. Click the eye icon for full details.
- Approve it to publish, or delete it to decline. Approving is instant, the review appears on your public surfaces right away.
- Optional: reply to the customer. If they left an email, your reply is emailed to them.
What you can do with a review
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Approve | Publishes the review to your widget, profile, and team hub instantly. This button appears on pending reviews. |
| Respond | Opens the Respond to Review window. Write a reply yourself or draft one with AI, then send. The reply is saved on the review, and emailed to the customer if they left an email address. |
| View details | Opens the full review: customer name and email, date, rating, sentiment, an identity confidence read, the linked team member, and any reply you have saved. Video reviews play here. |
| Download | On video reviews, saves the clip so you can reuse it in ads or social posts. |
| Delete | Permanently removes the review, its rating, and any reply. This is how you decline a review you do not want public. It cannot be undone. |
The two statuses you work with
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | The default for every new review. Not visible to the public. Waiting for you to approve or delete it. |
| Approved | Live on your public surfaces and counted in your star average and review totals. |
The details view also shows a sentiment read and an identity confidence score (High, Medium, or Low), worked out from signals like whether the customer recorded a video, left a valid email, and how much they wrote. These are there to help you judge a review at a glance. They never approve or reject anything for you.
