Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Devbion LLC ("Devbion," "we," "us," or "our"), the company behind Sync Reviews. They govern your access to and use of the Sync Reviews platform, including our website at syncreviews.com, dashboard, QR code review collection system, before-and-after portfolio, reviews widget, and all related services (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account, adding team members, scanning a QR code, recording a video review, or using any part of the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
We have written these Terms in clear language because we believe you should understand what you are agreeing to. That said, this is a legal document. If anything is unclear, contact us at support@syncreviews.com before using the Service.
1. Definitions
To keep things clear throughout this document, here is what specific terms mean when we use them:
- "Account Holder" — The person or business entity that creates a Sync Reviews account and subscribes to the Service. This is typically the business owner, operator, or an authorized representative of the business.
- "Team Member" — An individual added to an Account Holder's Sync Reviews account. Team Members receive unique QR codes and may upload before-and-after project photos. Team Members use the Service under the authority of the Account Holder.
- "Reviewer" — A customer of the Account Holder's business who scans a QR code and records a video review. Reviewers do not need to create a Sync Reviews account.
- "User" — Any person who accesses or uses the Service in any capacity, including Account Holders, Team Members, and Reviewers.
- "Content" — Any data, text, video, images, photos, or other material uploaded to, created through, or displayed by the Service. This includes video reviews, before-and-after photos, business information, and profile data.
- "Video Review" — A video recorded by a Reviewer through the Sync Reviews QR code system.
- "Widget" — The embeddable reviews display component that Account Holders can install on their websites to show reviews from Sync Reviews, Google My Business, Facebook, and Trustpilot.
- "QR Code" — The scannable code generated by Sync Reviews that directs Reviewers to the video recording interface.
2. Eligibility
To create a Sync Reviews account, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have the legal authority to enter into a binding agreement
- If registering on behalf of a business, have the authority to bind that business to these Terms
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Not have been previously suspended or removed from the Service
By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet all of these requirements.
Reviewers (customers recording video reviews) must be at least 16 years of age. If you are an Account Holder, you are responsible for ensuring that your team does not solicit video reviews from minors under 16.
3. Account Registration and Security
3.1 Creating Your Account
To access the Service, you must create an account by providing your name, email address, business name, and a password. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update that information if it changes.
3.2 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. This includes activity by Team Members you add to your account.
You agree to:
- Choose a strong, unique password
- Not share your login credentials with unauthorized individuals
- Notify us immediately at support@syncreviews.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to secure your account.
3.3 Team Member Accounts
As an Account Holder, you may add Team Members to your account. When you do:
- Each Team Member receives a unique QR code linked to your account
- You are responsible for the actions of your Team Members on the platform
- You may remove Team Members at any time through your dashboard
- Reviews and portfolio uploads associated with a Team Member remain in your account even if the Team Member is removed
- You represent that you have the necessary authorization (such as employment agreements or consent) to add individuals as Team Members
4. The Service
4.1 What Sync Reviews Provides
Sync Reviews is an online reputation management platform built for home service businesses. The Service includes:
- Video Review Collection: QR code-based system for collecting video testimonials from customers on-site
- Team Management: Unique QR codes per team member with per-person review tracking
- Before and After Portfolio: Photo upload and organization system for documenting completed work
- Reviews Widget: Embeddable website component that aggregates and displays reviews from Sync Reviews, Google My Business, Facebook, and Trustpilot
- Review Dashboard: Centralized interface for viewing, managing, and downloading all reviews and content
4.2 Service Availability
We strive to keep the Service available and functioning at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:
- Scheduled maintenance (we will provide reasonable advance notice when possible)
- Unscheduled maintenance or emergency repairs
- Factors beyond our control, including internet outages, hardware failures, or third-party service disruptions
We are not liable for any downtime or service interruptions. We do not offer service level agreements (SLAs) unless separately agreed upon in writing.
4.3 Modifications to the Service
We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. If we make changes that materially reduce the functionality of your current plan, we will provide reasonable notice via email or through the dashboard.
We are not obligated to maintain, support, or update any specific feature indefinitely.
5. Free Trial
5.1 Trial Terms
Sync Reviews offers a free 7-day trial with full access to all features. No credit card is required to start the trial.
During the trial:
- You have access to every feature available in the Service
- No features are restricted or locked
- You may collect video reviews, add team members, upload portfolio photos, and install the widget
5.2 After the Trial
At the end of your 7-day trial, you will be prompted to select a paid plan. If you choose not to subscribe:
- Your access to the Service will be restricted
- Your data (including video reviews, portfolio photos, team settings, and widget configuration) will NOT be deleted
- Your data will be preserved so you can reactivate your account at any time by subscribing to a paid plan
- Data associated with inactive trial accounts shall be retained for 30 days from the date of account inactivity, after which it may be permanently deleted.
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the free trial at any time, including changing its duration or the features included.
6. Pricing, Billing, and Payments
6.1 Subscription Plans
Sync Reviews is offered on a subscription basis with monthly and annual billing options. Current plan details and pricing are available at syncreviews.com/pricing
6.2 Billing
- Monthly subscriptions are billed on the same date each month
- Annual subscriptions are billed once per year on the anniversary of your subscription start date
- All fees are charged in advance for the upcoming billing period
- Prices are listed in US Dollars (USD)
- All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes, which will be added where required by law
6.3 Payment Methods
Payment is processed through our third-party payment provider. We accept major credit cards, debit cards. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers.
6.4 Failed Payments
If a payment fails:
- We will attempt to process the payment again and notify you via email
- You will have a grace period of 7 days to update your payment information
- If payment is not resolved within the grace period, your account may be downgraded or access may be restricted
- Your data will not be deleted due to a failed payment — it will be preserved for reactivation
6.5 Price Changes
We may change our pricing from time to time. If we increase prices:
- We will give you at least 30 days advance notice via email
- The new price will take effect at your next billing cycle after the notice period
- If you do not agree with the new pricing, you may cancel before the new price takes effect
6.6 Refunds
Because Sync Reviews offers a free 7-day trial with full feature access, we generally do not offer refunds on subscription payments. However, if you believe you have been billed in error, contact us at support@syncreviews.com and we will review your case.
7. Cancellation
7.1 How to Cancel
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your dashboard. Cancellation is self-serve — no phone call required, no cancellation fee, no questions you are forced to answer.
7.2 What Happens When You Cancel
- Your subscription remains active until the end of your current billing period (you have already paid for that time)
- After your billing period ends, your access to the Service will be restricted
- Your data (reviews, photos, team settings, widget configuration) is NOT deleted upon cancellation
- You may reactivate your account at any time by subscribing to a new plan — your data will be waiting for you
- We retain your data for 12 months after cancellation. After 12 months, your data may be permanently deleted.
7.3 No Contracts
There are no long-term contracts, minimum commitments, or early termination fees. You pay month-to-month (or year-to-year if on an annual plan) and can leave whenever you want.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose: collecting, managing, and displaying authentic customer reviews and project documentation for your home service business.
8.1 You Agree NOT To:
- Create fake reviews: Do not record, submit, or solicit video reviews from anyone who is not a genuine customer of the business. This includes reviews from employees, friends, family members, or paid individuals posing as customers.
- Manipulate reviews: Do not edit, alter, or selectively display reviews in a way that misrepresents your overall customer sentiment.
- Upload harmful content: Do not upload videos, photos, or any content that is illegal, defamatory, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable.
- Violate privacy: Do not record or upload videos or photos of individuals without their knowledge or consent.
- Infringe intellectual property: Do not upload content that infringes on the copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights of any third party.
- Reverse engineer the Service: Do not attempt to decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Service.
- Interfere with the Service: Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, or impair the Service, its servers, or its connected networks.
- Scrape or harvest data: Do not use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to extract data from the Service.
- Resell the Service: Do not resell, sublicense, or distribute access to the Service to third parties without our written consent.
- Misuse QR codes: Do not use Sync Reviews QR codes for any purpose other than collecting genuine customer reviews through the platform.
8.2 Consequences of Violation
If we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these Acceptable Use terms, we may:
- Issue a warning and request corrective action
- Remove or disable the offending content
- Suspend your account temporarily
- Terminate your account permanently
- Pursue legal remedies if necessary
For severe violations (such as fake reviews, illegal content, or privacy violations), we may terminate your account immediately without prior warning.
9. Content Ownership and Licenses
9.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of all Content you upload to or create through the Service, including video reviews collected through your QR codes and before-and-after project photos.
By uploading Content to the Service, you grant Sync Reviews a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:
- Store the Content on our servers and infrastructure
- Display the Content within your dashboard
- Display the Content through the reviews widget on your website (as configured by you)
- Process the Content as necessary to provide the Service (such as video encoding, thumbnail generation, and optimization for display)
This license exists solely to enable us to provide the Service to you. We do not use your Content for our own advertising or marketing purposes without your explicit, separate consent.
9.2 Video Review Content
Video reviews occupy a unique position because they are created by Reviewers (your customers) but collected through your account:
- The video is stored in and controlled by the Account Holder's account
- The Account Holder may use the video for business marketing purposes, including posting to social media, displaying on their website, and using in advertising
- The Reviewer retains the right to request removal of their video (see Section 9.4)
- Sync Reviews does not claim ownership of any video review content
9.3 Third-Party Review Content
Reviews fetched from Google My Business, Facebook, and Trustpilot remain the property of their respective platforms and the individuals who wrote them. Sync Reviews displays this content through official API integrations and in accordance with each platform's terms of service. We do not modify third-party review content.
9.4 Content Removal Requests
From Account Holders: You may delete any Content from your account at any time through your dashboard.
From Reviewers: If you are a Reviewer and wish to have your video review removed, you may:
- Contact the business that collected the review directly
- Contact Sync Reviews at support@syncreviews.com and we will facilitate the removal
We will process legitimate removal requests within a reasonable timeframe.
From Third Parties: If you believe content on the Service infringes your rights, see Section 15 (DMCA and Intellectual Property).
9.5 Sync Reviews Intellectual Property
The Service itself — including its design, code, features, branding, logos, documentation, and all underlying technology — is owned by Sync Reviews and protected by intellectual property laws.
Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use the Service for your business purposes during your subscription period. This right does not include any ownership interest in the Service or its intellectual property.
10. The Reviews Widget
10.1 Installation and Use
The reviews widget is provided as an embeddable code snippet for your website. By installing the widget, you agree to:
- Display the widget as provided, without modifying the underlying code in a way that misrepresents review data
- Not alter review content, ratings, or source attributions displayed by the widget
- Not use the widget to display reviews for a business other than the one associated with your account
10.2 Third-Party Platform Compliance
The widget displays reviews from Google My Business, Facebook, and Trustpilot through their official APIs. You acknowledge that:
- Availability of third-party reviews in the widget depends on continued API access from those platforms
- If a third-party platform changes its API terms, restricts access, or discontinues its API, the widget functionality related to that platform may be affected
- Sync Reviews is not responsible for changes made by third-party platforms that affect widget functionality
- You are responsible for ensuring your use of displayed third-party reviews complies with those platforms' terms of service
10.3 Widget Removal
If your subscription ends or your account is terminated, you should remove the widget code from your website. We reserve the right to disable the widget for inactive or terminated accounts.
11. QR Codes
11.1 QR Code Usage
Sync Reviews generates QR codes for your business and team members. These QR codes are provided solely for the purpose of collecting video reviews through the Sync Reviews platform.
You agree to:
- Use QR codes only for collecting genuine customer reviews
- Not modify, replicate, or reverse-engineer the QR code system
- Not use QR codes for any purpose unrelated to Sync Reviews
- Ensure QR codes are presented to actual customers after genuine service has been performed
11.2 QR Code Ownership
QR codes are generated by and remain the property of Sync Reviews. They are licensed to you for use during your active subscription. If your account is terminated or cancelled, the QR codes associated with your account will cease to function.
12. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, available at syncreviews.com/privacy-policy. The Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your rights regarding your data.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in the Privacy Policy.
As an Account Holder who collects video reviews and project photos, you acknowledge that:
- You have a responsibility to inform your customers that they are being asked to record a video review
- The act of a customer voluntarily scanning a QR code and recording a video constitutes their consent
- You are responsible for handling Reviewer data in compliance with applicable privacy laws in your jurisdiction
- If a Reviewer requests removal of their video, you should honor that request or direct them to Sync Reviews for assistance
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
We work hard to make Sync Reviews reliable, useful, and valuable for your business. However, we have to be straightforward about what we can and cannot guarantee.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DEVBION LLC (OPERATING AS SYNC REVIEWS) DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT
- WARRANTIES THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS
- WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR COMPLETENESS OF ANY CONTENT DISPLAYED THROUGH THE SERVICE, INCLUDING THIRD-PARTY REVIEWS
- WARRANTIES THAT THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OR EXPECTATIONS
- WARRANTIES REGARDING THE RESULTS YOU MAY OBTAIN FROM USING THE SERVICE
We do not guarantee that video reviews will result in new customers, increased revenue, or any specific business outcome.
14. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
Sync Reviews (Devbion LLC), its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates shall NOT be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunities
- Loss of data or content
- Loss of goodwill or reputation
- Cost of procurement of substitute services
- Any damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service
Our total cumulative liability to you for all claims arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the total amount you paid to Devbion LLC (for the Sync Reviews Service) during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
15. DMCA and Intellectual Property
Sync Reviews respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects Users to do the same.
15.1 Copyright Infringement Claims
If you believe that content on the Service infringes your copyright, you may submit a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) by providing the following information to our designated agent:
- A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
- A description of where the allegedly infringing material is located on the Service
- Your name, address, phone number, and email address
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate
- Your physical or electronic signature

15.2 Counter-Notice
If your content was removed due to a DMCA notice and you believe the removal was a mistake, you may submit a counter-notice with:
- Identification of the material that was removed and its location before removal
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake
- Your name, address, phone number, and email address
- A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district
- Your physical or electronic signature
15.3 Repeat Infringers
We reserve the right to terminate accounts of Users who are found to be repeat infringers.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Devbion LLC (operating as Sync Reviews), its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
- Content you upload, collect, or display through the Service
- Your violation of any third party's rights
- Any dispute between you and a Reviewer regarding a video review
- Any claim by a Team Member related to their inclusion in your Sync Reviews account
This indemnification obligation survives the termination of your account and these Terms.
17. Termination
17.1 Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by cancelling your subscription through your dashboard. See Section 7 for details on what happens when you cancel.
17.2 Termination by Sync Reviews
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these Terms, including the Acceptable Use policy (Section 8)
- You engage in fraudulent activity, including the creation of fake reviews
- Your payment fails and is not resolved within the grace period
- We are required to do so by law
- We discontinue the Service entirely (in which case we will provide reasonable advance notice)
For violations that pose an immediate risk to the Service, other Users, or third parties, we may terminate your account without prior notice.
17.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your right to access and use the Service ceases immediately
- QR codes associated with your account will stop functioning
- The reviews widget on your website will stop displaying content (you should remove the widget code)
- Your data will be handled according to our data retention policy as described in our Privacy Policy
- Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply, including: Content Ownership (Section 9), Disclaimer of Warranties (Section 13), Limitation of Liability (Section 14), Indemnification (Section 16), and Governing Law (Section 19)
18. Dispute Resolution
18.1 Informal Resolution First
Before filing any formal legal action, you agree to contact us at support@syncreviews.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will make a good-faith effort to resolve any issue within 30 days of receiving your notice.
18.2 Binding Arbitration
If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, you and Devbion LLC agree that any dispute shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) in accordance with its then-current rules.
- All arbitration proceedings shall be conducted remotely via video conferencing technology
- The arbitration shall be conducted by a single arbitrator
- The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding
- Judgment on the arbitration award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction
18.3 Class Action Waiver
YOU AND DEVBION LLC (OPERATING AS SYNC REVIEWS) AGREE THAT EACH PARTY MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION.
18.4 Exceptions
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief in court for matters related to intellectual property, data security, or unauthorized access to the Service.
19. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and constructed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
20. General Provisions
20.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any plan-specific terms presented at the time of purchase, constitute the entire agreement between you and Devbion LLC regarding the Service.
20.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
20.3 Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
20.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. Devbion LLC may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.
20.5 Force Majeure
Devbion LLC is not liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
20.6 Notices
We may send you notices via email to the address associated with your account or through the Service dashboard. You are responsible for keeping your email address current. Notices to Sync Reviews should be sent to support@syncreviews.com.
20.7 No Agency
Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and Devbion LLC.
21. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes:
- We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
- For material changes, we will notify you via email at least 30 days before the changes take effect
- Your continued use of the Service after the updated Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes
- If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you may cancel your account before the changes take effect
